This Niton Junction Steps for Life walk is being driven by Ron Rauhut, brother to Marlene Rauhut-Lucu (40), a highway maintenance worker who tragically lost her life after she was struck by a passing semi-truck on January 29, 2008. In early fall 2010, Ron approached PCL – Canada’s largest general contracting organization – to discuss sponsorship opportunities with Steps for Life in 2011 and in October Threads of Life welcomed the PCL family of companies as the first national gold sponsor for Steps for Life 2011. As a national gold sponsor, PCL sponsored $15,000 for the walk. In 2012, they returned as a national gold sponsor and have committed to do so for the next 5 years!
